Kortrijk, Belgium – April 8, 2021 Cinionic, the Barco, CGS, and ALPD cinema joint venture, and Indian digital cinema company Qube have announced a multi-year partnership to install 300 Laser Light Upgrade Kits to exhibitors throughout Southern Asia. Qube is India’s preeminent digital cinema technology and solutions provider, supporting thousands of screens. The deal gives theaters across the region a fast and economical upgrade path to laser projection for Barco Series 2 from the world leader in laser cinema solutions, Cinionic. 

Under the agreement, theaters throughout India, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Sri Lanka will receive worry-free deployment of Cinionic’s industry leading RGB+ laser light source projection, backed by a warranty and dedicated support network. The unique technology enables fast and affordable theater technology optimization, a win for both cinema operators and patrons.

Laser Light Upgrade (LLU) Kits from Cinionic enable theaters to transform their existing Barco xenon Series 2 projectors to the latest laser cinema technology. The shift from a traditional lamp light source to a laser light source also reduces energy costs for theaters, ensures a crystal clear picture, consistent cinematic presentation, and extends the lifetime of existing projector investments.
